Of the lake and dunes. Woven through the region.
October 7 - 17, 2026

The Michiana Yarn Crawl is a community-organized, passport-based fiber arts event celebrating independent yarn shops across southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. Every fall, knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and fiber enthusiasts collect a passport and journey across the Michiana region — visiting local shops, discovering exclusive colorways and patterns, and connecting with the makers and community that make this region’s fiber arts scene extraordinary. Rooted in the lakes, dunes, and creative spirit of Michiana, the crawl is your invitation to explore, collect, and belong.
The Michiana Yarn Crawl spans two states, seven counties, and nine independent yarn shops — from the Lake Michigan shoreline east through the dunes and into the heart of Michiana. Follow the trail to discover local fiber arts makers, rare yarns, and the community woven through this region.

The Michiana Yarn Crawl is a self-guided fiber arts adventure through the shops, studios, and makers of southwest Michigan and northern Indiana — woven together by Lake Michigan's shoreline and the dunes that frame our region.
Use the Shop Map to plan your route across our seven-county footprint, then visit each participating shop during crawl dates to collect your passport stamp and pick up exclusive crawler discounts and patterns. Each shop brings something unique to the crawl — watch for special events, trunk shows, and raffle baskets along the way.
Get your passport before you go to track your visits, jot notes on your finds, and log your progress toward the Dune Walker top completion tier.
A few tips before you hit the road:Check each shop's crawl hours on their Shop page — some may extend their hours for the event.
The first weekend is the most electric, but weekdays are quieter if you prefer a more leisurely pace.
Shops get busy — be patient with staff, and save detailed project help for after the crawl.Whether you visit one shop or all of them, you're part of something stitched into this region. Welcome to the crawl.
